Respect All Life

For a deeper understanding, we will be revisiting the Core Principles of LifeonHigh throughout a series of posts. This post will cover Core Principle number 1, Respect All Life.

1) Respect All Life – Every living object plays a role in the universe. These roles connect each of us to all other life. Through these connections we all become one. Respect all life to be respected as life.

This principle relates to maintaining balance and harmony in nature. Without human intervention, the life around us operates in a harmonious state. When this harmony is disrupted naturally, nature finds a way of rebalancing. One of the main aspects that sets human life apart from others is our ability to knowingly affect the balance of nature. Human life runs into issues when we don’t practice moderation. Throughout history, we have been known to over hunt and fish, which has brought species to extinction. We have over forested by clear cutting large areas of land and leaving them barren which can affect weather patterns and oxygen levels as well as destroying the home land of many animals. On the flip side, we have also created new reef structures in the oceans to help re-grow different sea life. We have developed animal breeding programs to help bring endangered species back up to safer levels.

Respecting life, in the scope of LifeonHigh, is not about becoming vegan, or fighting for the rights of those in danger. Respecting all life is about practicing moderation in your own life and your own needs to allow nature to maintain a state of harmony. When in a harmonious state, the needs of all life are met and we are able to operate in a more cooperative capacity throughout society
